About
Hello! My name is Omar Maaouane Veiga, I am a London-based engineer with a background in robotics and programming. I love making useful systems that people can use. Whether it's to get a chuckle from them or for legitimate use, that's what tech is needed for right? To make our lives better in some way.
What I work with
I could list off technologies and projects all day but it'd be faster to just say that I'm a computer nerd with a big taste in practical electronics. Yes I code, but I also solder things together into inventions that make use of that code.
Python is my go-to for wrangling data. If something needs a backend, an API, or just a script that saves someone three hours a week, I'll build it. And if the problem lives in the physical world — sensors, motors, embedded boards — even better I'll usually switch over to C++.
How I work
Honestly? I just talk to people. The most important part of any project is knowing what you or the client has to do. Once I have solid list of requirements, I'll plan out a timeline and get to work! I move fast, keep things simple, and try not to build anything that needs a manual to understand. An intuitive product is a product that makes all of this fancy tech actually useful to anybody other than me.
Beyond work
When I'm not neck-deep in code or circuits, I'm probably tinkering with some side project that caught my eye, folding origami, modelling characters in Blender, or even geeking out over fighter jets at an airshow. I like building things, breaking things, and figuring out how things work. That's me in a nutshell.
