My final year project was awarded the Institution of Engineering Designers Best Final Year Project Award in June 2025. A truly outstanding achievement that I could not feel more proud of. To think my hard work and dedication got recognized by the very engineering institution i was in is truly an honour I sincerely cannot overstate.
This award recognizes the top submission across all UK universities, assessed on technical innovation, real-world impact, and design quality. To be recognised at a national level, beyond my own university, is both rewarding and humbling.
This project is the result of months of dedication and hard work. Seeing that effort recognized by none other than the IED not only motivates me, but also reinforces my drive to keep pushing forward and producing even greater work.
Even more exciting I also got to meet some of the other people who won an award and see what their work involved. To say their work was revolutionary would be an understatement. From medical devices to cheap and effective recycling solutions, I was humbled by their innovative work and sheer dedication to their craft.
Receiving this award is a meaningful milestone, but more importantly, it motivates me to continue developing outstanding work.
